Historic Preservation Committee

We meet once a month at the Rancho Buena Vista Adobe to work on cataloging and preserving antiques belonging to the adobe, setting up museum displays, cleaning, and decorating a room in the adobe for Christmas.

DAR Project Patriot Committee

We cook and serve dinners to the Wounded Warrior Battalion West at Camp Pendleton once a month.

DAR Service for Veterans Committee

We donate paperback books, personal hygiene items, and baby care items to the Veterans Administration (VA) Hospital in La Jolla quarterly.

Conservation Committee

We volunteer on coastal and local watershed clean-up projects and participate in habitat restoration projects.

National Defense Committee

We present student awards to four Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) programs.

DAR Good Citizens Committee

We present student awards to high school students.

DAR Youth Citizenship Committee

We present student awards to middle school students.

Lineage Research Committee

Members of our Lineage Research Committee help prospective members with their genealogy research.

DAR Speaker's Staff

Our members give presentations to local schools, libraries, and other DAR chapters.

Literacy Promotion Committee

Our volunteers work at the Vista Library in its English as a second language program.

Volunteer Genealogists Committee

Volunteer genealogists within the chapter help prospective members with their applications for NSDAR membership.

Commemorative Events Committee

This committee plans chapter programs and activities to commemorate patriotic events such as Constitution Day, the Fourth of July, Flag Day, Pearl Harbor Day, and others.

The Flag of the United States of America Committee

Members of our flag committee collect tattered flags for our annual flag retirement ceremony and encourage members and the community to follow proper flag etiquette.

Children of the American Revolution

Members of our chapter work as adult leaders of the Red, White, & Blue Society, Children of the American Revolution.

Constitution Week Committee

Our Constitution Week Committee sets up displays and gives PowerPoint presentations at local libraries during Constitution Week.

DAR School Committee

Members of this committee participate in Kate Duncan Smith DAR School's Adopt-a-Classroom by sending supplies to the class. They raise funds for the DAR supported schools: Crossnnore School, Berry College, Kate Duncan Smith School, Hindman School, and Hillside School.
